One I remember: Q: If earth is always rotating, why do we land on the same place when we jump? I don't remember his answer in exact words, but the accompanying cartoon was like someone jumping and saying 'ippadiye gudhichu mylapore poyidalaam' (we can keep jumping like this and travel to Mylapore (or some place)) More than his stories, I fondly remember the times my cousin and I would read and talk about his stories. We used to go to a local library looking for his old not so familiar fictions. When we would find one, it would feel as if we found gold. Once when I was going by train, I made a couple of new train-friends just on the basis of a casual question 'Who is your favorite writer?'
I was under the impression he is going to live forever. Hope his books and writings would live for a long time to come. Kannathil muthamittal hero madhavan is a vague replica of Sujatha.Engineer by profession, writer, short tempered ( someone in bus giving him seat ), eccentric to a point of going to srilanka to fulfill a child's wish etc ( sujatha was one of the producer of movie Bharathi). Sujatha hates wasting time.Meetings with him are to the point and over in few minutes (this is way after retirement). If u r his avid patron and u meet him, will be surprised that sujatha hardly shows any emotions or even internally appreciates the fact that you enjoy his writing ( thalaiva.thalaiva approach that politicians love) For him, if u meet him, u r a interference to his work and probably end up as a character in his articles or stories. All of this info are from articles and interviews in other magazines about him.Reading his books, i think these may be honest comments. What an irony!

I lived in a state right next to Tamil Nadu and never heard of Sujatha msad: On the other hand we were made to study stories like Huckleberry finn, Mill on the Floss (I still remember 'the golden gates of their childhood had for ever closed behind them') which in reality were difficult to connect with (phoren). The settings, people, names etc.
Were very phoren to us. I wish India had a true link language or an English translation scheme wherein Indians had the option of reading neighboring states' literary stallworths.
I know those with great interest can even today browse across states, but most common people don't.Have you watched movies such as Anniyan (Vikram/Shankar), Indian (Kamalhasan) which were huge hits in all the 4 southern states and the latest Rajnikanth movie Sivaji which also ran in all 4 states and made a historic blockbuster- Sujatha was behind all the scripts. He has written the storyline and scripts for several Manirathnam and Shankar movies. His last movie script 'Robot' starring Rajni and is being directed by Shankar is based on his hit novel 'En Iniya Iyandira' a story centered around a pet robotic dog with AI chips embedded in it which suddenly starts living and feeling emotions much like a human being. We should wait and see how this movie comes out. Sujatha was a hero for me and my friends.
When I was in a dilemma on Returning to India, I was asking opinions from several people about R2I. Then later I started talking to people, who were initially in Chennai and then went to Delhi, Mumbai, etc., and later decided to come back to Chennai and settle down. I asked them, did their return to chennai met their expectation. Then I remebered that Sujatha after his retirement decided to come and settle in Chennai. I was very curious to know the reasons for his move and did the move met his expectations.
During one of my googling, I tripped on this website, where it had a compilations of his famous Questions & Answers. I don't remember the exact words, but it was in these lines - 'What can you say about your move to Chennai'.

His reply was - ' Initially it was difficult, but later I got used to it'. His knowledge on ancient Tamil literature is breathtaking and the ease with which he explains it to layman is what makes him great. He had influenced the thought process of readers.
I remember writing to him through Junior Vikatan (or might be Junior Post) in this Q&A section. Asked him why can't we have broader width than broad gauge tracks so that trains would run faster (as they run faster on broad gauge than Meter gauge). He said, that's true but where do we go for such a huge investment. Have to see if still have that issue back in India, it was almost 20 years back.
His stories inspired me to take Computer Science as a major subject and which later helped me to determine my career. Always wondered how USA would be after reading Pirivom Santhipom for numerous times during my college days. Now that I am here, unfortunately he is no more. Once you read his stories and visit those places, it's like you have always seen those places before through his writing.
Such was his power with writing. May his soul rest in peace and the TN government should set up something for people to go and read his works. To me, he could explain any subject (politics, religion, fiction, science) to appear as simple as 1+1=2. Funny as hell.
Could beat J.Sienfeld and D.Berry combined, pen down:-). With Madan's illustrations, there was no limit to imagination and dreams. For a small town(may be an alley) boy, I owe my career (in Computers) and the thurst for knowledge, to him. I wish, I had fraction of his obsession in search for knowledge. My vote goes to 'Yen, Yethergu, Yeppidi' (why, what and when). A wikipedia decades ago, by one man.
